UPDATED summary of Wilan cases/settlements as of 06-NOV-2023.  Probably reflects lower hanging fruit, but still positive for future money coming to QTRH.
 
Settlements

• Broadcom license - 27-SEP-2023
• LG telematics license - 03-OCT-2023
• Renesas settlement – 06-NOV-2023

Litigations

• HP - New action 28-SEP-2023 in WDTX on wired connectivity patents from Lattice Semi.  These cover current USB, USB-C that will be the standard in EU next year and next generation connectivity.  
• Lenovo - Wired connectivity in EDTX.  Same IP as in the HP action.
• Microsoft - Now at the depositions/dueling experts stage on the SRI/siri IP.  Trial 06-MAY-2024.  
• Google action on the SRI/siri IP is administratively stayed pending PTAB final ruling on inventorship (the role claimed by Dr. Moran v. the recorded inventors, Drs. Cheyer and Morin). PTAB has had the final submissions/analyses from Google and IPA since 30-SEP-2022.  Pending the ruling on inventorship, the IP has cleared PTAB and CAFC as patentable and is ready for trial. 
• AMD - breach of contract v. Polaris. AMD claims a prior license because on a joint development agreement with Infineon/Qimonda. Trial date not set, but case schedule calls for Dispositive Motions by MAY-2024, after which the trial date will be set. 
• AMD - Wilan sub Eridanus Technologies opened an action against AMD on 01-SEP-2023 in WDTX.  
• AMD - Collabo case scheduled for trial 15-JUL-2024 in WDTX  
• Nanya Technologies - Action by Polaris scheduled for trial November, 2024 in EDTX.  Nanya filed motion of affirmative defense of license (see AMD).  Motion in reply stage.  Watch for implication to the AMD case.
• TCL - Wireless Protocol Innovations has cleared PTAB and CAFC (action filed October, 2015) and is scheduled for trial 10-DEC-2024 in SDCA. 
• TCL - Wilan action filed May, 2019 in SDCA.  Currently at PTAB with positive rulings on 6 patents asserted. Awaiting ex partes certificate from PTAB.

The new owners of the co. are a LOT more fluid and accomodating with settlements, imo. they will take less but get settled and move on?? A win win for both parties.............. A lot more action (thanks to your updates!) it seems...........

No doubt, Socrates.  The SRI, USB and Polaris IPs are likely hills to die on and that is where the bigger settlements lie.

Also the defendants may be more willing to settle knowing they are dealing with a private entity that does not have the same scrutiny on quarterly results in the public market.   Almost no volume heading into Q3 results. I guess everyone has chosen a side. GLTA

Thank you CabbieJBJ for your much appreciated summary of  Wilan cases and settlements.  We both appreciate that the QuarterHill interest is 10% but this can be meaningful considering some large volume operators that are involved in the listed cases, Peace, ElJ

Tsmith, your comment reflects an ignorance beyond measurment. My interest in Wilan is in the profits its success can bring to QTRH; when you talk about Wilan, you're just whining. I think you deserve an IGNORE in my book.

It's more than just the 10% equity stake, which may never come to fruition.  It's about the nearer term $23.4M in earnouts plus distributions, if any.  Since any money from Wilan drops to QTRH's bottom line, it can have a significant impact on results.
