That would be a very good signal.  Maybe some others. Only 14 more trading hours before the blackout kicks in.  It would be in effect unitl Q4 results are released - based on prior years, that would be late March.

Noway does Qtrh go private  close to these levels...........A takeover is always possible .....but the stock price would first have to be above $3.00 then a 50% premium takeover offer would work ...........This may happen only after a couple of strong quarters............... Don't forget there is another $30million + cash most likely coming from the Wilan deal.................. Rusty

Please read my earlier post if you have not done so.  They will either grow the business over the next 2-3 yrs and then takeover by a venture capital or hedge fund.  I don't believe Rusty is accumulating shares for a eventual merger......Hint , Hint

I'm not sure where you are getting this blackout policy info from. Please share. The regulations are pretty vague and company policies can change.

I recently confirmed it's still in place: Through regular company-imposed blackout periods, Quarterhill insiders are prevented from trading in shares or disposing of shares resulting from an option exercise. Trading of Quarterhill securities by insiders is subject to Quarterhill’s insider trading policy. This policy instructs

Maxmoe, Q4 - Q1 pose additional challenges for insider buying.  The Q4 results are typically released around the 20th of March. At that time, the Q1 blackout is in place. So effectively insiders are in blackout from mid December until mid May.

Thanks again maak for staying on top of this.  The 45K purtchase was last Thursday and Friday, but the filing was today. Importantly, Bill Morris did buy an additional 6K shares today. For info, Chuck Myers retained 49K (after withholding taxes) of his semi-annual RSU alocation of 83K on assuming the CEO position in September. There is only one reason for insiders to buy!

It also creates havoc for selling which for most companies and executives is a key part of the comp package. This seems to be excessive and unnecessary to me. Every company I've ever worked for had plenty of exemptions and exceptions so as not to get carried away. Access to material information, and de minimus trade volume were the two most often cited exemptions. As were pre-scheduled sell
