Mencken revelled in framing things in as cynical a way as possible. I love his writings, but not because I think everything he wrote should be taken seriously. If Mencken were still alive one might ask him about his own public education and how it might actually have contributed to his own originality (of which he had plenty). Says a defender of public education! Yes we can tell Mrm you ARE EDUCATED all right!...... A poster child of brainwashing accomplished!  Now he is criticizing a dead writer who obviously wrote THAT to muck the system! But not Mrm's system no he is comfy being educated...... lol only lacks common sense and intelligence... imho of course...
