Huge bids coming in....

Big draw down in inventories.

RMP looks like it wants to go on a run. I've been trading oil for over 30 years and if I didn't know better it looks to me like they're trying to put a lid on the price. The bids are picking up so it's getting more and more difficult to do.

Interesting to watch the battle.

I'll try to answer: Many reasons, but most likely relating to trading. For example, I'm certain JP Morgan Chase is short oil and/or trying to cover their shorts and got stuck on the wrong end of the trade. We have a ton of analysts out there caught with poor oil predictions. Their trading departments are surely trying to either continue with their short positions or close them out. Either ...more

Thanks. Went well beyond the scope I expected. As for Morgan Stanley, where to begin?...Ditto Mr. Putin. Generally agree re world oil price manipulation. It will be interesting when the Saudis admit to themselves that their current levels of production can't be maintained indefinitely without permanent damage to their economy.
