AER Drilling Data....

Here's some data I just picked off the AER's Horizontal Well List on RMP's Gold Creek area HZ's:

WELL NAME LIC # SPUD FIN DRLG TD (m) TVD (m)
  RMP HZ ELM 4-18-68-2 480159 Jan 9/17 Jan 26/17 4935
  RMP HZ ELM 3-22-68-3 478480 Jan 5/16 Jan 24/16 4233 2198
  RMP HZ ELM 4-30-68-3 480911 Dec 2/16 Jan 4/17 4523

Since finished drilling dates are given it appears that the 4-18 and 4-30 wells are both drilled to TD but the time between spud and finished drilling for 4-18 of 17 days is shorter than the 32 days given for the 4-30 well in spite of being 412m longer.  I'm used to HZ's in the 5000m measured depth range to being 30+ days so I wonder if the finished drilling date is correct.  Still it's great to see the increases in Total Depths from the first well to the last well of roughly 700m.  Assuming a landed depth of ~2600m MD that would give lateral lengths of 1600m increasing to 2300m.  I would expect a somewhat linear increase in rate and reserves to go with that assuming uniform drainage (using tonnes/meter of proppant placed as a proxy).

It will be very interesting to see the next operations update.

With the strong activity inthe area if rmp could deliver good IP results (like the first drill or slightly better let s dream a bit we have earned it) we would be back on track what a nice kick in the asse for the share prive would it be :-) let s hope we will get a bone till end of march

I've talked to CIOC and Velvet people and neither will give much info up for the Gold Creek area. Both just smile and say things are good. Knowing the people I would say that is positive. Once infrastructure is in place I'm hoping we see good things.

I wonder if those in charge of hedge funds controlling CIOC and Velvet wish to have a ready market for their shares. By buying RMP they can kill two birds with one stone, get extra land and a listing on TSX.  So DoubleGG, talk to them again (top guys in NY or wherever) and give them a hint, something like a reverse takeover.   As for well 4-30, could it be that drilling was ...more

The guys I know aren't that high up on the ladder. Some think the RMP stuff will be more gassy. Hard to say they are tight lipped so I take that as a good thing. Honestly it looks to me like they are setting up to be taken over. With the board changes and all. You don't have a guy from an investment house as your chair with a long term plan to be growth. Those guys want to make their money ...more

More gassy isn't a bad thing.  Gas energy is useful in lifting production without need for artificial lift.  That said the Gold Creek Montney at ~2200m TVD is definitely not too deep for some good artificial lift options when the time comes.  More gassy also might mean a bit more mature reservoir (more cooked) where the API gravity of the hydrocarbon fluid production might be ...more
