Thanks for writing a novel *nickbull* I asked a simple question, you are beating around the bush.....I simply asked why do you like Sherritt stock????? There are many nickel.producers, what makes Sherritt better?
Comment by Nickbull on Aug 20, 2021 9:02am
Fair... imo sherritt is a value bet on a stock that is way under valued. They have a long history of steady production and have a lot of upside to the price of nickel and cobalt. fed this is the condensed notes of my previous post's I am asking you, for those who comment on here what a bad company this is if you have no intention on owning the stock?   At the end of the day ...more

Nick, i agree with your reasoning and justification for investing. IMO, S used to be an extremely risky stock to hold, with potential for outsized returns to go along with a high likelihood of failure/bankruptcy. Now, I think that the company is still a risky hold, but with a much more attractive risk/return balance. If things go right in the commodity markets, we could see $10 Ni and $1.50-2 ...more

Its not the past that looks bad. Its now. Nickel over $8 and thier cash position declined 5 million in the last quarter. I wouldnt exactly call that spitting out cash. A few years ago nickel was in the $4 range and thier sp went to $1.40 AND they were paying interest on all thier bonds AND energy prices were high. Today, theyve stolen 40% of the bondholders money reducing thier interest psyments ...more

Great post.  Agree the JV is opaque and they have yet to demonstrate they are now churning out money (which I believe they are) and so the impression you describe below is difficult to dispute.  This quarter they won't quite have the same excuses in regards to energy prices which of come down a little and other inputs which have come down much more.  On average we have higher ...more

Do t forget about poor production. The can't control input and output prices, but they can control mixed sulphide production. Why isn't anyone pushing management about this? Why don't you ever mention it in your posts?

Hi, sorry I'm trying to figure something out, maybe you bloggers can help me? There was talk a while back about Sherritt hedging some of its nickel production, I believe in the $6 dollar range? Did this ever materialize? At what price? How much production? Expiration? I don't really see this hedging in quarterlies? Maybe I must be thinking of something else

They didn't hedge, they bought pricing insurance they payed 6 million to backstop 25% of their at 6.50. I believed it was a waste and showed managements lack of confidence in the overall nickel market. cheers
Comment by YourFriendo on Aug 23, 2021 11:39am
I'm sure they are the only company in history to spend 3% of their market cap on a hedge.

I haven't been to the casino for a long time....so I figured I'd try for a 7. Only a few cents underwater. I do think it will pop back up to high 40"s soon. Like I said, long term, this thing is going to zero. You really have to ask yourself why, when Ni and CO are at multi year highs, this stock in trading below 40 cents. Well here are some answers: 1) There is no cash left to ...more

Great post .... I will add, just like the US Cuban embargo when you do something for 50 plus years and nothing changes it time to do something different.... so in our case .... what are we waiting for ??  and why I am pro Canadians expansion / development for our Sherritt.  opportunity abounds in Canada and especially in our NWT at this Nico deposit.... all in my opinion... but a ...more

I'm on the fence with this company. Good short term outlook on nickel/cobalt prices so I don't think the company will go bankrupt. However, there are too many directors for one mining operation. The company also need to cut costs and run their head office closer or at the refinery. They act like a company 10x the size with compensation and management size. This is why there is still a lot ...more
