Cash in Canada dropped 15m.

Mind blowing how this company can't increase its cash position despite these nickel prices.

feel bad for the investors on this board that continuously pump money into this thing.

It is called a build-up of working capital.  And if you understood anything about accounting and finanicial statement analysis, along with investing, you would know why.

It's called the one profitable asset does not generate enough cash to cover 1) Capex 2) Debt service 3) Technologies 4) Corporate Overhead. look at the nickel price...look at the stock price.

ErnieandBert's observations on the "working capital" (cash) buildup at Moa are correct and YourFriendo's comment on cash levels is superficial at best and misleading at worst.  The Company's motivation in building cash in Moa aside from funding any work on expansion projects is  likely to manage the cash coming back to Canada in such a manner as to avoid tripping ...more

Cash and cash equiv in Moa was flat QQ(50M vs 49M).  It's important to note that Sherritt does not decide the JV distributions by themselves. The Cuban partner is not going to allow Moa to horde cash in order for Sherritt to avoid a cash sweep. Embarrassingly, you've been claiming this stock has "torque" against nickel price. 1. Working capital is more than just cash - p.49 2. You have consistently misunderstood the statement that Sherritt has "torque" to nickel prices.  You can't deny that the FCF is torqued to nickel prices.  It is a simple financial fact.  What the share price does as a result of that fact in the short term is above my pay grade 3.  We have been over this 100X ...more

On a sequential basis, and on a 100% basis, Mia's working capital increased about 54mm.  That puts sherritt's 50% share at a 27mm increase.   That is "where the money went" for those who may not follow such detailed cash flow analysis.   And for those who don't understand the particulars of the excess cash flow sweep, the build up of working capital at moa ...more
