SoCot execs to reassess Tampakan copper-gold project

Two very important takeaways from today's article.

1.  “The government wants to push through with the pending mining projects, including the one in Tampakan, to help our economy recover,” he said in his weekly radio program."

2.  Sagittarius may decide NOT to do open pit on the largest mine in the PH (and in my humble opinion that would weaken govt revenues, and so may pressure the govt to hurry up and make their decision)....  "
But he said SMI officials declared in a recent meeting that they are no longer pursuing the controversial mining method. Tamayo said he asked them to make another formal presentation to the provincial government, especially to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan or provincial board, regarding their proposed mining operation."
