First Nations relationship with SEA and TUD

SEA has a lot of support from Nisga'a and Tahltan Nations and the Gitxsan Hereditary Chiefs Office. SEA would produce income for the local First Nations for many generations.

If TUD tries  to block progress of KSM how will that effect TUD's relationship with the local first nations? With out their cooperation TUD doesn't have a project.

Just a thought.

I've learned that indigenous peoples rely on trust and an assessment of one's worth before making business or other decisions. It will come down to who the indigenous leaders and representatives interpret to possess the most integrity-based-worth of the two companies. My bet does not favour Rudy.

You say that but Rudy has delivered contracts worth $100+ million  to Nisga'a and Tahltan Nations, with the potential to deliver a lot more very soon.  Both Nations  also have  a massive "royalty" on KSM which is the cornerstone asset in Nations Royalty where they are the majority shareholders. How much have TUD delivered? Will KSM deliver more benefits over the ...more

Paw556, that's a very hypothetical question as nobody knows the answer. SEA needs a partner to fill in those blanks. That's what everybody has been waiting on.

You can likely conclude that SEA has been getting such good support from the BC government because KSM is strongly supported by the Nisga'a and Tahltan First Nations.

Every bit of evidence suggests that SEA has built a sound enduring relationship with the Indigenous peoples including actual awards and kudos from industry associations and regulators. SEA has voluntarily rehabilitated the old Johnny Mountain minesite on its ISKUT property...on Tahltan land... using Indigenous labour to do the work.

Wouldn't every project in that area ultimately produce income for those groups? To solely focus on one project and ignore multiple others that would ALL produce income for those groups would be crazy, no? Why cut off all 4 fingers to only keep the thumb?  Cooperation seems the obvious route to take... Doesnt seem like Rudy is interested in that approach however. Aaaaaaaaand that's ...more

lol CSK...Tudor is in great standing with the First Nations, just like SA. Tudor is also hiring them for various jobs and they too have a strong commitment to them. While you guys denk around, Tudor will be a producing mine far sooner having employed the First Nations as well as their continued blessings...and if I'm correct, Tudor isn't even on their land...the run off effects them so ...more

No Fordster, the TUD agreements with the First Nations are not like those SEA has. TUD's agrreements, on TUD's web site, are the rudimentary communications agreements every junior explorer has. SEA's are Impact Benefit Agreements which include major commitments for work and revenue sharing which are negotiated once the project has an Envirnmental Assessment Certificate.

Precisely how would you know what agreements Tudor has with the First Nations? You being from Seabridge, yes I would expect you to know what Seabridge has...but I know for a fact, Tudor has the blessings of the First Nations. The only advantage Seabridge has is you're further down the line of development. Pardon Tudor for not being as old as Seabridge..... Hows Rudy today? Is he in a good ...more
