Signal Gold Inc > Will we have a Pit #3?

Will we have a Pit #3?

I posted "this" in the past...

"In 2010 Osisko drilled hole OSK2010-30.

From 122 to 122.5 meters the grade was 1005g/t.

The hole was collared on the western side of the proposed West Goldbrook Pit.

If one projects this "ore shoot" intersection upward to surface (up pluge at 25 degrees). It would hit surface right at the east side of the pileline (the western edge of the West Goldbrook Pit)."

To add to the past comments….and why I continue to add shares as an "Unknown Geologist"

If one looks at the details of latest techncial reports, one can see that there are resources (grades above 0.45g/t) noted under the western section of the West Goldbrook Pit #2.

If one projects these resources up plunge to the west (25 degrees), they hit surface on the west side of the natural gas pipeline where Signal is currently drilling 4000m over a 300meter strike length.  So they should be hitting some open pit grade goodies in the current drilling!! We shall know soon enough!!!!!!!!

One might say...these are projections and should be taken lightly...agreed...however...

Over a kilometer further west of the current drill program, the largest stamp mill in Nova Scotia was built at Dolliver Mountain.

https://archives.novascotia.ca/meninmines/archives/?ID=260

At Dolliver Mountain, they mined a few quartz-gold rich belts from a verticle shaft.  One of the belts was named the 22 - foot belt (describing the thickness of the belt - 6+ meters).

Another belt, the Partington Belt, strategraphically above the 22 -foot belt, looks like it was more like 10+ meters thick and was the main quartz belt mined at Dolliver.  See image here:

So...

  • In the latest technical report, from past drilling, we have open-pit cut-off grades (0.45g/t) noted below the western sections of the West Goldbrook Pit #2.  All things being equal, these come to surface in the "Pit#3" area which is currently being drilled with the 4000 meter drill program.
    • So we should see some decent numbers forthcoming IMHO.
    • If open pit widths are not encountered, I suspect we will see econonomic narrower underground target grades which they can chase under the pipeline from proposed Pit #2.  More ounces to add to the pile regardless.
  • Past producting Dolliver Mountain mine, a kilometer+ further west from the current drilling, has 8 and 10+ meter thick quartz belts plunging 16degrees east (so says the Dolliver Mountain image).  Given that, these quartz belts "should" be present at depths of approximately 350-500 meters below the current drilling area.
    • So we should have good gold grades deeper than they are currently drilling (in the Dolliver Horizon - all things being equal and continuous)....good for adding more potential high-grade underground Dolliver Mountain ounces
  • What is interesting is what is in between Dolliver Mountain horizon and west of the current drilling area horizon...a kilometerish of unknown that we shall only know when Signal Gold buys the remaining properties from the current landowners and starts poking drill holes west of the current drilling...this will be the true unknown section of their claim block
Key...
  • Dolliver Mountain has thick quartz-gold rich belts 6 to 10+ meters thick way out to the western section of the claim block.
  • West Goldbrook Pit, which butts up againt the Maritine North East Pipeline is bigger and longer than the East Goldbrook Pit.
    • The is not one 1.5 km long open pit because of the Goldbrook lake/river between the two pits...hugh undergroound resources between the two pits so the resources are VERY continuous between the East and West Open Pits!!!
    • So why would they not continue west to the Pit #3 area as Dolliver Mountain to the west is still going strong!!!
  • I have personally seen, sampled and mapped the area where the 10,000 tonne bulk sample was taken underground in the existing ramp.  On the 250 foot level the belt, where a portion of the bulk sample was extracted, is 10meters thick!  As is the Partington Belt 2+kms to the west.  Heck...I have also see the Boston Richardson Belt, the only quartz belt mined on the property from 1890-1910.  On the 400 foot level of the Boston Richardson shaft, rehabed in 1988-89, the Boston-Richardson Belt is just shy of 10meters thick!
  • Kevin mentioned that there are 80+ quartz belts indentified thus far
  • They just picked up several more kms of strike length of the western fault extention of the Upper Seal Harbour Anticline (west side of Issacs Hbr)...if the gold continues over there...WOW Wowzers...let's poke a hole

What is not to like here...

This deposit is currently 6 times larger than the next biggest depost in Nova Scotia and continues to grow.
Once all drilling is done on this property (many years from now), I suspect 10million ounces or more is possible as these saddle reef deposits are known for continuity and depth and we have only seen a few deep drill hole numbers down to 450-500m (gets expensive to drill deep)...

Just scratching the surface of THE BEAST folks...should be an INTERESTING YEAR ahead!!

Image of Dolliver Mountain mine...which got mangled in my last post https://geoscan.nrcan.gc.ca/starweb/geoscan/servlet.starweb?path=geoscan/fulle.web&search1=R=108144

Wow, GoldNHill, more of these posts please!! You held this one for too long! But I understand now why you kept all this good info for you... so you can buy on the cheap last week! :) Now, I just hope you did not raise the expectation too high if they do not hit on the first holes they drilled! GLTA

Just painting a picture of the fact that the deposit presents great resource continuity.  One cannot have a mine if the resource is not continuous Quartz belts in and below the two currently defined pits consistently present resource grade material from surface down plunge to the deepest intersections of those quartz belts. The Boston Richardson mine itself is the best example where the ...more

Not being a geologist, I had to read your posts several times to grasp everything. But I'm getting there... One question for you though: when Osisko drilled some holes toward Dolliver Mountain and hit that 1kg/ton hole you mentionned, why did they stop drilling? I know they were looking for a mega open pit project at that time and if I remember well, you were saying at that moment that they ...more

Osisko drilled 5 holes out by Dolliver Mountain.  Each hole was I believe 200m long and 200 m apart and each hole was targeting the anticline that had the main Dolliver Mountain shaft sunk on it...as per the picture I posted last night. Osiko did the hole spotting and when in the field, based their holes not on the main shaft where the anticline is but a ventilation shaft that was north of ...more

Osiko did the hole spotting and when in the field, based their holes not on the main shaft where the anticline is but a ventilation shaft that was north of the main anticline (Big mistake) Yeah, what a mistake! Thanks for the precisions and for your input. Seeing a geologist who has field experience on the propertie buying shares like you are, I feel confident about my position! Thanks for your ...more

Thank you very much for providing this indicative historical data. It confirms a universal posit for Gold deposits. All shallow oxidized gold deposits appear as outcrops but mainly as dessiminated , which are found in the open pits are derived from basement lodes ( hard rock ) which have grades at least twice that of the shallow oxidized and which increase with depth. Typically, open pits extend ...more
