Not a good idea. They need to pay down debt. With the oil being that high, with the non buying by insider, with Surge not moving, the result of December due for next week must be quite disastrous.

Most likely not going to be disastrous . That being said, probably not going to be particularly great either. Crude prices basically averaged mid 40s in Q4. As for the dividend, it would definitely be surprising if the bank syndicate allowed them to revive the dividend.

Dividend reinstatement soon? Your kidding. (or pumping) As a taxpayer financing the bailout loan, I'd be pi$$ed if it happened before paying it back. As a shareholder (bagholder) I'd say it's way too soon. If you follow or spread rumours like that, you're troubled.

Please explain this phenomenon, it's happening every day on every board I follow. A few months ago it was bashers everyday but sgy has tripled since then. ************************************************************************************************************** Before considering the return of dividend I'd rather they pay down a substantial chunk of debt...specially the commercial paper where the syndicate was breathing down their necks and the covenant deadline was extended from Dec 20 to Dec 2021.

Being a long-suffering shareholder here, I'd love nothing more than to once again receive a dividend income and see some upward movement on the price.  But given that they needed help due to the debt a short while ago, they should be paying it down (and I think might be forced to anyway) before reinstating any dividend. As much as I think we might be in an upward phase in oil and energy
