Hope everyone is enjoying the dividend

Once again management has proven how reckless they are with the dividend announcement made....debt pay down and an NCIB should be a priority...not a dividend and blowing $40 million on land in a "competitive price environment" when will the Board of Directos step up its role and stabilize this company?

I totally agree with the above opinion.  Kherson

Translation: The 0.1 cent dividend would only take place in July Gaby, the proposed dividend is for $0.035 per month or $0.42 per year.

Paraphrasing the press release... "In addition to these excellent drilling results, Surge was also successful at a recent, highly competitive, Saskatchewan Crown land sale at Steelman.” Highly competitive to me means expense because there are a lot of bidder..apologies if you think I mislead.... And of course, your phrase, "blowing $40 million on land" had me and seemingly some others, confused as to where you got your price tag. "Highly competitive", to me means that there are plenty ...more

the only thing that has saved these guess is $100...my hope is they get taken out because they are cheap...if you guys can't see that the only reason we have a dividend is because it gives the CEO $400k a year in cash flow you are dumber than you post.

I am thinking they spend $9M as per the press release, where did this $40M coming from am missing something?
Comment by Herfa1 on May 11, 2022 11:08pm
Go to Surge energy site. Look at the financial statement in the section plant and equipment. There is an acquisition of 42m in this trimester.
Comment by Tradestay on May 12, 2022 12:30am
$42,968 is this not their total expenditure including Q1 drilling of new wells to keep production flat ?
Comment by zack50 on May 12, 2022 11:11am
The $42MM that you refer to is for "Net Capital Expenditures"... If you delve further you would see the following: During the first quarter of 2022, Surge invested a total of ~$43 million, excluding acquisitions and dispositions. This investment was broken down as follows: * $29.7 million to drill and complete 14 gross (14.0 net) wells in Southeast Alberta ("Sparky") and 9 ...more
