Once again, nice time to buy

How low will it go?
Comment by itsalie on Sep 22, 2022 12:39pm
hard to say, with interests rates going up the narrative is why have your money in the market when you can get a 5% return from gic without risk

Near the 52wk low is a great buy.

This is when you buy equities.  This point in the hiking cycle.  They need to be beaten up then you take the divy and wait for the capital gain.  If you are happy with 5% then go for it.   I prefer to earn more on my money.   I can afford to wait this out.

I use the DRIP and just keep buying.  It is clearly undervalued here.  If you bump esitimates ahead to 2024, this is undervalued around 6-7$ at present with a near 8% divivdend.   Crazy

Will try to buy more at this great price.

Great tailwinds for this industry!

They also didn't lower their divys all through CV19 when thier occupancy numbers were lower and they werent permitting any new admittance for months on end... I bought this all the way down I'm 2020 and have been adding consistently on the dips. I have my DRIP set up as well. Baby boomers are all coming to the age where demand is going to skyrocket. Home support is a mess and not ...more

While I agree with almost all you are saying asn't the DRIP suspended about April 2020 and is still under suspension?  The debt the company has incurred in its recent activity is significant. Would not the run up in interst rates cause the company to pay out more of its earnings in interest on debt and thus make less available for dividends.  I am open, in fact welcome differing ...more

This market is just plain (NUTS).
Comment by AmorFatiforlife on Sep 26, 2022 7:49pm
It must be institution specific as I still get my DRIP every month. If you look at the past 3 or 4 qs their debt ratio has been improving fairly significantly as their occupancy numbers have been improving. They have also expanded and are renovating a few of their facilities which will help with future capital. Obviously the debt could be an issue, but I've been here for over 3 years now and ...more

You are correct - Sienna operates like a REIT :   Adjusted Funds From Operations AFFO payout ratio was 99.2% for Q2 2022. They pay out almost all funds and adjust that ratio as needed.    AFFO per share increased by 12.4% to $0.236 per share, compared to Q2 2021. The increase was primarily due to an increase in OFFO, as well as lower maintenance costs as a result ...more

The acquisition and related transaction costs were financed through a combination of sources. This includes net proceeds from the Company’s March 23, 2022 equity raise, net proceeds from recent dispositions, a one-time drawdown of $90 million on the acquisition term loan;  and the assumption of two CMHC-insured property-level mortgages at a weighted-average interest rate of 2.24 per cent ...more

I get a DRIP every month like clockwork and it has never been suspended.  Who is your broker?
Comment by smalltimeinvest on Sep 27, 2022 4:14pm
I use BMO InvestorLine. The Company publicly announced the susp[ension of DRIP in April of 2020. Still currently suspended per thye company website: https://www.siennaliving.ca/investors/stock-quote-dividend/dividend

Very strange. I am with TD and have been getting my DRIP shares for years now???
Comment by TimeBuilder on Sep 28, 2022 12:30pm
BIG difference between Corperate DRIP's ( Treasury ) and Brokerage DRIP's   IMO  We "would" always take advantage of Treasury DRIP's  with company discounts IF none  ... use the cash to pay the TAX man or BUY more on the open market at our price and NOT leave the pricing control with our broker... Just our opinion and a learned lesson over TIME.& ...more

This is correct.  ScotiaBank offers a broklerage DRIP commission free.  I monitor prices for my DRIPS and they buy like clockwork at the market price.  I have no issue with it.
Comment by TimeBuilder on Sep 28, 2022 3:01pm
Very TRUE  same with TDWBDI but sometimes we did much better pricing when buying &  waiting a bit for a small pull back before the filling of our always lower priced Limit orders.. JMO

You sound way more dsiciplined an investor than me.  I like the convenience.
Comment by incomedreamer11 on Sep 29, 2022 10:22am
When company cancell DRIP you should contact with your broker to cancell too or you  will get automatically DPP ( dividend purchase plan ,which means broker bying shares on the open market  instead company treasure)
Comment by dogatcat on Oct 01, 2022 3:44pm
Why do you need to that if you track prices of the buys?   I allow my brokerage to buy shares for me commmission free and I don't get screwed on prices
Comment by AmorFatiforlife on Oct 03, 2022 4:21pm
When your broker buys, they just market buy at that days price. If one has free trades, they can take the divy and buy on a day where the market is dipping.. may scoop up a few extra shares that way. I like the convenience, and I get jammed $10 for trades so not worth it for me.

This stock is now below the Year Low of $11.47. Time is now to add more.
