Solitario has amassed a very good size acreage of gold claims (+/- 28,000 acres) right near the original Homestake mine in South Dakota.
Was intrigued by their acquisition. Did some additional research and it appears to be a very timely acquisition on Solitairo's part due to a significant renewed interest in the area.
A relatively brand new company has also similarly staked/obtained/optioned a large land package around the original Homestake mine…this new company is going to list on the NYSE as Dakota Gold in early April this year (just a couple of weeks or so from now) and it appears they will have a market cap of over $300M coming out of the gate. Currently trading on the OTC as Dakota Territory with the shares priced around $4.90 / $5.00 USD.
Dakota Gold will be steered by Robert Quartermain of Pretium fame (Pretium was bought out late last year for $2.3 B) who btw has come out of retirement to be the Chairman and it’s largest shareholder.
Solitario will be right beside Dakota Gold, and just to the west of both the Homestake and Wharf mines. With Solitario also being listed on the NYSE this should bode quite well for the company once the big promotion hits the street with Dakota Gold and US investors / Robin Hooders start clamouring to try and get a piece of the next Homestake 2.0 potential discovery….I suspect they will be buying both Dakota Gold and Solitario...very interesting investment play just ahead.
