Getting quite tired of this stock…

2.5 year downtrend. Management can't seem to do anything to break that. All analysts seem positive but I think Certarus and M&B overhang is killing this stock. Seems to have a massive invisible wall at $10.20. GLTA

Brookfield playing the game to exhaust retail shareholders... or B&M just wants to exit and move on.. either way, the business funtamentals are strong, just need to stay the course now and generate as much FCF as possible and run the NCIB... Best of Luck to All!

How would Brookfield be playing the game. I believe since they are a 10% holder they need to report all transactions. I think it is the combination of PE fund sponsors of Certarus and M&B selling that is potentially driving this. This overhang is pretty bad it seems. GLTA

The change in shorts is telling - those anticipating a selloff shorted it.  So the decline in number is somewhat encouraging, as I think it indicates the primary concern was the overhang, not the business performance.  We just have to give it time and take our generous divvy in the meantime.  But it is trying.

I don't think Brookfield is active. Their investment  in SPB is profiable, and this company in BAM's  playbook is too small. They have bigger fish to fry.

Same thing was said about Enercare in 2018 or IPL in 2021.. My take is Brookfield is active through alternate investing vehicles and can take SPB out anytime.. In the end, agree, sit back, collect +7% divvy and wait.. hopefully NCIB is running at these levels.. Best of Luck to All!

Shylock40 I sure hope that you are prescient, as I  have(what my broker said) too many (40+k) of SPB. Since you mention IPL, I did really well when Brookfield bought them. I took their conversion offer and eventually selling the BIPC shares for $100 a piece. I even didn't begrudge the CRA for all the taxes  they collected from me. Anyway, if your call of BAM taking SPB over in a year ...more

I would be in the camp that Brookfield takes over.. fold in and they wouldn't have to pay out such a high dividend. Get rid of the fat and run it lean which Brookfield specializes in. Brookfield owns a large block of Transalta. Transalta recent has made offer to take out Transalta renewables.
