AFFO per share and payout ratio

Not sure why there was a concern about the dividend being cut?  When you go to the analyst models - I will use CIBC as an example - their AFFO per share  estimate ( Adjusted Funds From Operations - which is a metric that measures true cash flow) is at 1.98 for 2024 - dividend is .72 and their calculation is a payout ratio of 36.3% - for 2025 the AFFO per share is projected to be 2.19 - with a .72 distribution per share which works out to a 32.9% payout ratio.

Yup. No idea why anyone is concerned. Earnings are growing and debt is being paid down, while rates are dropping.

I bought 8000 shares of SPB in 2009. When I bought in the dividend was at $0.15 per month and I set up with my bank to reinvest everything in more SPB shares. After buying in I watched the share price drop to the mid-5s and the dividend was cut by 60% to what it is today but, I hung in, continued to accumulate cheap shares with my dividend payments and eventually, with the hiring of Luc Desjardins ...more

Sching, you did well. I have over 45k of these. Somehow I lost track of them as I have other fish to fry. I agree, Brookfield wouldn't be interested in buying Superior, it is just not their kind of entity. I may dump some of these and use it as tax loss against gain. The report was not bad to warrant the drastic drop of the stocks. I still suspect that there is manipulation going on. But to ...more

Definitely manipulation. Massive manipulation. How else could we end up where we are right now. Brave new future.
