Israeli attack

Although little to do with Superior Propane,it will be interesting to see what the oil price will be in the coming days in light of the Israeli attack taking place against Iran. Some of the posters here ,as I am,own oilcos.
Latest news is bombing has taken place against Iran, but only " military" targets.
We will see.

himmler....the Israeli attack as you say doesn't affect the supply and demand for oil. So if the oil price pops as a result of the attack it is an opportunity to sell into the fantasy and make a few bucks and then reload later when the price goes down

That is true..sell oilco's on a possible spike.I believe it's all about middle east fear of escalation, but in reality oil demand is still low according to media reports.I have some oilcos, and am actually down a bit on them but will watch them closely.

himmler....I sold my oils quite a while ago and interestingly, I also sold my renewables quite a while ago as well when they spiked due to all the hype. Having said that I do do some short term trades when I see a price inerfficiency that I can take advantage of. So I have been in and out of them a few times over the past couple of years.  Right now I see the renewables as being overpriced ...more

Excellent post Experienced ! Just wondering what transportation method is used for the RNG from those landfills? And to what destination. Thanks
Comment by Experienced on Oct 26, 2024 10:04pm
Dave...Great questions My understanding is that they are using the RNG from a specific landfill to power the their fleet of trucks that service that landfill and they have localized electricity generation using the RNG to power turbines to provide electricity to the community around the landfill.  Excess RNG is pipelined through existing pipeline systems.  Some landfills are using ENB ...more

Experienced..selling your lips was a great move. The Israeli attack sure didn't help oils.I guess I'll be sitting on mine a while longer. At least they collect a dividend..for now.

himmler...I just posted something about this on the SU Board.  Basically, IMO, what happens to the oil price in the short run will depend a lot on what Iran does next.  If they foolishly retaliate then I suspect that Isreal would then attack oil installations as the attack they just conducted achieved all their objectives short of hitting Iranian oil.

A few more thoughts... The past Iranian missle attacks were essentially failures and now with the addition of the THAAD missle defence system that the US gave Isreal, it highly unlikely that another Iranian attack even using higher end missles would be successful.  In addition, the Isrealis have been successful in neutralizing Hamas and have gone a long to do the same to Hezbollah.   ...more
