payout ratio 370 percent

That number comes from company fundamentals listed on td site as of this morning.
Lets get real this stock is not super high growth stock and paying out more than its free cash flow is a measure for failure, in my opinion.

This is a seaonal stock...........some quarters are better than others due to the business that they are in. If one takes the WORST quarter, the other fundamentals (ex POR) can be greatly skewed. This company announces payouts in 3 month intervals, so I doubt that the situation is as absurd as the headline portrays,

According to this site - https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=STB.TO - the payout ratio is a whopping 1,755.72%!!! If it's on the internet, it HAS to be 100% true and accurate, right?

From the horse's mouth I wrote to investor relations at STB and this is the response...........I guess you have to decied for yourself. I would like to feel that the corporation would not be sending out false clarification. I’ve never seen payout ratio referenced as POR. 370% is absurd. ask Morningstar for an answer on this calculation and they said our formula is how we calculate it. we take dividend divided by net income. We cash flow is the key not an accounting term net income. cash calculations is what is important. If the company uses leases it is expenses the lease cost. It has said it also is building equity in the leases. I looked in the MD&A published and it shows ...more
