Ex-dividend tomorrow!!

Paid to wait. Buy it today for divi tomorrow.

You needed to buy yesterday to have the transaction closed tomorrow and get the dividend.
Comment by Owlseye1 on Mar 02, 2021 11:47am
Wrong it's today you need to own it. Ex-divi tomorrow.
Comment by Fishermen on Mar 02, 2021 12:34pm
You buy today doesnt mean you own it today. The settlement date is likely 2 or 3 days later. You aint qualify for the dividend.
Comment by Owlseye1 on Mar 02, 2021 12:56pm
Trust me on this if you buy it the day before they ex divi you will get it there's not a three day settlement like your saying. Done this many times.
Comment by Boulter on Mar 02, 2021 2:31pm
People can believe you or they can believe me.  Either way, the truth is out there and if they buy todaty, they will discover it by trial and error.

You don't know what your talking about buddy! This is the way it works . Do a little homework here n get your facts straight.
Comment by Boulter on Mar 02, 2021 3:57pm
Pretty sure my facts are straight for a Canadian trading on the TSX where we have settlement is T+2.  Maybe you are an American trading on a US exchange where things are different.
Comment by Adonis1411 on Mar 02, 2021 11:41pm
If you buy before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend. If you buy on or after, you do not. The ex-dividend date is the first day of trading without dividend entitlement (hence the 'ex'). The Record Date is the day the dividend is assigned to shareholders of record. Generally, this is two days from the day before the ex-dividend date (or one day after ex-dividend date) given T+2 ...more

WRONG! Buying today qualifies you for the dividend. Today is the last day to buy to get the dividend. In theory the stock should drop the equivalent of the dividend tomorrow on ex-dividend day. It may drop more depending on market conditions or it may go up. Beauty of the markets......
