Now I know why Suncor has Lagged CNQ & everyone else..

It's Line 5.

If they shut down, Suncor's Eastern Refineries are in trouble.  Also, if there is no Oil, then everyone will be forced to buy government subsidized EV's..  great for Tesla, but bad for Suncor Shareholders as gasoline demand will go down fast in Eastern Canada.

I guess this is why there are no buyers for Suncor.  No one is "jump to the pump" to buy these on the low.. but perhaps Mark "Suncor dividend is really" Little had a Crystal ball and why Suncor CUT their dividend, while CNQ RAISED their dividend.

The names to own in the sector for low risk are CNQ (5% yield) and ARX (3% yield, but stock is heading up like Texas rockets on July 4th.

Good luck to all.

Other than rail ,there is the Portland pipeline that could  feed crude into Montreal at least and even into Sarnia via line 9 (reversed as before) . Product can be imported into Montreal and then be shipped on the TNPL to Toronto and Sarnia. Product could also be barged along the Great Lakes from either Montreal or Chicago.Product pipelines run from NYH into Buffalo and Sarnia There are also ...more

Since I wrote this , it has come to my attention that the Colonial Pipeline System has come under cyber attack and is now shutdown. This could have consequences for both Buffalo and Detroit and many others who are rely either partially or entirely on that system.  Of course, Ontario is well placed to help out its neighbouring states in an emergency. Way past time for the politicians to grow ...more
