Tmx alone will double Suncors s/p...

With completion scheduled in 2023,the tmx pipeline will be a future catalyst that will propel Suncors s/p in early 2022.Shareprice will always be tabulated way before completion. Suncors control over fort hills in conjunction with it's own millions of producable barrels will be icing on this "baking" cake.Suncor is severely undervalued,(mainly because of its oilsands status),but oil is oil and oils value ,I.m.o. will exceed all prior highs in 2022.Its coming...BUY SUNCOR.

With all due respect, completion of TMX cannot in any way be the catalyst for a doubling of the SP of SU.  SU production will increase a bit next year assuming no further problems at Fort Hills and the possibility of getting the Brent price by selling oil through TMX or its oil compared to WCS (for that portion of its production which is determined by WCS).  Neither of these factors are ...more

"Part"of the problem with Suncor is its access to foreign markets, tmx will help alleviate this problem. "Perception"in all stock markets is the biggest driver ,so I still believe the tmx pipeline can add more value to Suncor then financial accounting. I already believe s/p should be double from where we now sit, so any catylsts can double us very quick, let alone a pipeline to ...more

Can anyone shed some light on all of the factors contributing to, and maybe their relative weighting, on the spread between WCS and WTI? My understanding is that the heavy crudes have a more complicated refining process, and require extra NG, which adds to processing cost.  Also we are basically an island, and the US is effectively our only external buyer, so we are at the mercy of their ...more

The biggest factor in the WCS discount is a lack of market access , we are captive to US demand and pricing . Keystone XL , EnergyEast and TMX would have solved that but this country can't get past itself . The US can plan , permit , build and commision a pipeline in 2 years , you can't even get a permit in Canada after 10 years of studies and court cases . Until political powers stop ...more

I agree that TMX will help SU as I pointed out in my post.  That said I do not believe that access to TMX would double the SP of SU.  IMO that is nothing less than wishful thinking. In terms of SU being undervalued, by most common metrics based on FCF per share etc one could conclude that the company is undervalued by the market.  The problem as I pointed in numerous previous posts ...more

Well written opinion, however I must disagree with some points you make.Suncor has a growth strategy with Terra nova and West white rose ,and can increase production at other platforms in the blink of an eye., but what's the point when the world is not yet on an even keel,(if you will,no point in over producing what it is you sell). Its not that tmx will double the value of Suncor, I think ...more

Thanks - good points.  Right now I have invested elsewhere but willing to get back into SU when the time seems right for me. From my perspective and having been in "the game" for many decades, there is no secret that the fundamentals for SU look great on paper, The Street has basically yawned despite this and as Rockfeller stated back in the early 1900s - "Don't fight the ...more

Not the end of the world.  More cheap shares with the drip.

Suncor is still dirt cheap.  They shares dividend may their highest form of debt.   I would focus on highest bond loans and continuing share buybacks.  The more share buybacks they do the more it will drag investors to getting back into this stock.
