In theory, you are correct. However, lockdowns will only prolong the event such as in Queerbec, therefore trying to make it last for a few months. My view was too let it flush through as fast as possible but governments in Canada disagree. Maybe they are right with the hospital overruns but smart provinces would build temporary shelters as it is pretty clear ICU's will probably be okay
