being sold as the biggest step against climate change LOL
The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest step against climate change the US has ever taken - The Verge
Shhh, a side deal was struck so that Manchin would support the bill it mandate the sale of drilling leases in alaska and mexico to oil/gas companies BEFORE any on/offshore solar/wind get the funding. Yes, the greenies gonna flip when they find out they can't have any green pudding until US drill baby drill, pipe baby pipe proceed first. The maximum duration of any environmental review on major project is set for 2 years (TMX took 5 years just on review). When greenies find out, they would wake up to a climate bomb bill, not a climate solution bill. No windfall tax in the bill either.
Inflation Reduction Act: Manchin side deal on pipeline approvals is a 'Climate Bomb' | Red, Green, and Blue (redgreenandblue.org)
I hope this would warn true dough not to impose windfal tax in the great white north.
TMX is years behind and over budget
Our once LNG lead was loss due to government dithering. (yes, canada led in LNG race at one time, ahead of US, Indonesia, Australia but we gave that up)
