Suncor needs to fire the Investor Relations Manager
All these unforced errors by Suncor in communication are totally unnecessary. I would argue that their communication skills in general are really sub-par and that is a big reason why Suncor is such a laggard.
If you go on twitter the general consensus as to which Canadian O&G Company is the worst it's good 'ol Suncor. It's pretty much an on-going joke. It’s similar to the way everyone makes jokes about Cramer’s picks. Suncor is a money machine though everyone seems to think it’s on par with Beyond Meats or Peloton as a company. Try and say something positive about SU on twitter and you mostly get laughs. That’s all on the poor communications of Suncor.
Watch today's "Investor Day" be completely uninspired and lame. The way the financial vice-president mumbles his way through the quarterly meetings one would swear no one doesn't give an f.
I can see a lot of potential in Suncor and as an investment and it has done very well for me these last 15 months or so - especially compare to the FAANG stocks. Still I am getting fed up with the inability of this company to tell the world how good the numbers are. The stock price could easily be $20 higher - at least - the numbers and prospects are good enough.
