Should this be a surprise?
Or not? I would have expected this from the FEDERAL regulators NOT the the local ones. I guess even Alberta's own Gov't is feeling the pressures from the crazy environmentalists & woke right lobbyists. I guess looking at the overall trends and where the majority of the Waestern populations are leaning towards, this REALLY shouldn't have been a surprise.......to no one. Especially a far left leaning place like Canada. I'll take a wild guess here, and say this is a tremendous blow to Suncor IF the permits to expand Fprt Hills is REJECTED. This in my mind, will be the beginning of the end for Suncor, as the company is being completely blocked, blacklisted & nullified by almost every Western lead Gov/t/country on the planet. Which for any seasoned & savvy investor knows, does not bode well for the company going forward.
I just wonder how much longer or how much more of the company being "isolated & pushed into a dark corner" tactics/punishement it could take BEFORE all it takes a serious toll on the company as a viable entity. Imho, by the looks of it, probably not much more, as now it's being punished by the very people who once had its back and gave it strong, undying support when it needed it the most. How times have changed!

Kind of odd ? I am unable to confirm this decision on the official AER Decision webpage? Maybe AER does not update website daily? https://webapps.aer.ca/pod/Page?paging=0 Just seems odd, given how many requests AER typically approves for Suncor in any given month. Bloomberg is not an impartial observer, wise investors need to cross check everything Bloomberg prints.
