And not the outcome i was "expecting". But i doubt this is far from over and this has many inning still to play out. I wonder what COP's endgame is in all this? Well, at least this has shown us two things, for me at least. One, i miscalculated (for now!) Conocop's intentions & motivations (maybe their REAL motives are still to be seen!!) and two, i greatly overestimated Suncor's mgmt team intellectual capacity & their managerial/investment acumen. But like i said, i think this saga is FAR from over and will just have to stick around a bit more to see hoow things develope from here. Ok ....and thx again. I'm not a s/h but i do find the whole situation quite intriguing. Especially ConocoP's part & motives in all this. Are they exercising for financial reasons, some endgame OR are they playing the Jesters' role as a spoiler to some logical end? Still not sure which. The ConocoP are foxy bunch......you never know their true intents.  And yes i did see that

what "homework" is it that SU did not do? Did you expect them to go knock and COP's door to ask them "if we put in an offer to purchase this 50% stake in Surmont, will you exercise your option to snatch it from us?" I find it peculiar that after all these years, COP never showed an interest in purchasing this other 50% till Suncor came for it? Looks more like a case of
