Oy Vey.....Poor Suncor!!!

They guys just can't grab a break.......Just a continuous streak bad luck.  So what's happening here? Just a pure run of shyteless bad luck or a sign, an Omen?

Network breaches are usually never a good sign, and are usually accompanied with some massive losses of some kind, either financial resources or critical core information. In some unfortunate cases, maybe even both. For Sucor's sake, i hope it's NOT one of these horrible & malicious hacks below which can be terminal, fatal, in some cases.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jivRCrm4jSw

Because if it is something like CryptoLocker or WannaCry.......Especially the latter, it will be literal for Suncore mgmt and they'll REALLY will want to cry at this point. I wonder which malicious virus inflitrated Suncor's "supposdely" safe & secure network, just out of curiousity, as they don't mention which. Bad Russian or Chinese actors? They're usually the main culprit in these sophisticated attacks.

Again for Suncor's sake, hopefully the damages are limited and not fatal and they'll recover. But i bet you they're dreaming of better, simpler days and hoping it was only some Nigerian meme email scam lol. I guess better to have a love letter sending you a fortune in treasures rather than one being ripped from you.....raw...&......permanantly.

Was wondering when something was going to happen. The Communications Security Agency warned last Wednesday that the it was highly likely that the Canadian oil and gas industry would be targeted by Russian hackers due to Canada's support for Ukraine. Probable targets would be to disrupt operations and create bottlenecks in infrastructure including pipelines. Since it appears that SU was hit ...more

"Probable targets would be to disrupt operations and create bottlenecks in infrastructure including pipelines. Since it appears that SU was hit, there is good chance that others are/will be hit as well". This is exactly what the Federal Government has been trying to accomplish for the past decade. Justin and his buddy Guilbeault are likely giggling and high-fiving thier "inner ...more

i'm sure russian hack is related to this Justin Trudeau signed Canada on as "Safety Guarantor to Ukraine" while no one was looking & obviously told media to bury it under his current scandals. As much it takes, and as long as it takes

Cd be retalituon for Canada's support fir Ukraine. But anti-O&G activists may be involved as well, given their blatant condemnation of RY financing relationship with O&G cos.

Saw a report that the hack is affecting PC stations and people have to use cash and their apps don't work.  This could take a while for them to sort it out. As many of you know I bicycle a lot.  A couple of years ago Garmin (my bike computer company) got hacked and they had to shut down their whole system and it took a couple of months for them to get their while system up and ...more

- we have very little facts on the cybersecurity threat but HACKING into the SCADA systems CONTROLLING and SUPERVISING critical industrial petrochemical processes and pipelines at Suncor Energy is a FIVE STAR ALERT - remember that the Israelis and Americans BROKE INTO the Iranian uranium enrichment CENTRIFUGES controlled by the SIEMENS SCADA systems and inputed remote computer COMMANDS to SPEED ...more

As this story is JUST developping and not much is known in terms of details at this time, for obvious reasons of course, as the company will want to mitigate any internal or PR damages from the eventual fallout. But there has been a "small" update from Suncor mgmt in reagards to the severity of the issue, for those who are interested in following this intriguing story or have somekinf of ...more

mrmomo......as I mentioned before, Garmin had a similar problems a few years back. Their site was effectively down for at least two months while they slowly brought all the bits and pieces back online. During that time when I contacted the company (who, IMO have a customer support department nothing short of first clas)s and they couldn't even get into their own website to answer questions ...more
