We have incredible resources, but we have shot ourselves in the foot with regulation and wokeness. We can no longer compete with the rest of the world anymore. Canadians should prepare for what is coming and take steps for a tough future. Everyone should be actively searching for a child in Africa to sponsor them before it is too late.

Not surprised at the toll numbers given the cost overruns. Migraine - you have the numbers but it seems to me that these tolls move the netback to the producers back close to the discount for WCS for shipping to the US Gulf coast and for those that don't face a WCS discount their returns could be less.

Yes the tolls are eye watering, and will bite into the diffs. Now the fact that heavy sours are now in short supply globally, and command a premium, it should lessen the sting somewhat. I havn't run the numbers yet.

I guess , on the positive side of things , at least the TMPL tarrifs should put an upper cap on the WCS versus WTI differentials and even more positively for the diluted bitumen differentials . Of course, the uncapped portion of the tariffs which has risen to $6.48 per barrel should be vigorously disputed. Not only by the Petroleum companies but by the provinces as well.
