what were the chances of that pipeline project going insanely over original projected costs once the Fed government took over?

Good article....I would rather that it said taxpayers paying for the loss as opposed to Canada since it indirectly implies that these are two different things. Rest assured that someone will buy the pipeline (aboriginal groups?) at a deep discount and probably with funding through the back door by taxpayers.  Double whammy for taxpayers.

It would not surprise me in the least if the Feds gave the original owners Kinder Morgan ROFR on a buy back deal. Not a rare occurance considering who was involved in the transaction.

$1 seems about right with this federal governements track record. Tax payers are alway on the hook for thier incompetance.
