In my generation, I have always been skeptical that the US actually landed a spacacraft on the moon in 1969 and then was able to left off the moon and connect with the mothership.  There are lots of "conspiracy theories" regarding shadows etc.  My hypothesis was that the computers at that time were not able to do that since I was using using computers back then and the the computers that perhaps could do that (doubltful that they could do it anyway) were too big too fit in the space capsule.

Tonite while watching the evening news with my wife at dinner there was a newscast talking about the problems of doing the same thing by the US 55 (approx) years later.

As my wife would say...."I rest my case"

Absolutely ridiculous. I guess all the astronauts and the people at Mission control were lying?  This is simply bonkers--nut case stuff. As the old expression goes--3 can keep a secret if 2 are dead. The reason that no one has landed on the Moon since the 70's is because the Saturn V rocket was discontinued as a heavy lift vehicle after the missions and only within the last few years

No, the lunar highlands are largely composed of quartz and feldspar while the Sea of Tranquility (the first landing spot) is composed of one of the "Maria Basalts" that were witnessed hundreds of years ago.

I would think to many other entities/countries would be interested in exposing anything that would cast doubt on the mighty USA.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-party_evidence_for_Apollo_Moon_landings Maybe some flat Earthers can pipe up. But hey, with how upsidedown the world is these days ... maybe it's all just a glitch in the Matrix?

True enough. We have a few flat earthers on this thread (with muliple alternate handles) who like calling the Apollo missions fake and SU share value fake....etc. etc. but would have you believe that 700+ "likes" would be generated by other posters after having read this garbage. It certainly makes sense that the credibility of legends like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and James Lovell
