I need help

My wife and I were watching the news tonite at dinner.

There was a piece talking about this guy who sold a KC Chiefs jersey signed by Taylor and Kelce for $61,000 and the discussion and interviews was about whether it was legit or not.

 My question...

Can't someone just ask them of they signed it or not?  Or is this too simple?

 Any answer would be appreciated..

They can always send it over to Psa for authentication purposes. If it has the Psa label, then it's legit. In other words, even if it's not "real", as long as it has a Psa authentic label then people will pay a lot of money for it. The Psa label means more to collectors whether or not the signature is even real.
