US Election - A perspective
On a deeply personal level.....
As I have talked about before - my interest in the US election is about what do I do as an investor. I must admit that that is not entirely true because, while at my age and financial situation, it really doesn't matter (I will be ok personally no matter what), but as a Grandfather, looking at my Grandkids it does matter a lot....maybe for not my own since they will inherit my wealth but for others {most of my wealth is going through trust funds to future generations} - not so much). The reason I post about this is that I think it will might matter to a lot of other people.
Soooo..where goes...
1..in the short run, a Trump victory may not be a good thing for Canada...why?...because his "America First? agenda and threats to re-write the Trade Agreement that he signed with with Canada (and Mexico) are up to negotiation. And....if he follows through on mass departions then under current Canadian Law this will be bad for Canada
2...Offsetting Point 1 is the fact that 8 years of Harris/Democratic Power will destroy the US and investors will suffer over the longer run of this
Soooo..we will see how America decides but IMHO, a Harris victory with a curious combination of Fascism and Marxism will for my Grandkids be a bad thing. Why?..because both of these systems historically have been failures

Well it seems the US market likes the Trump victory...right now in pre-market it is up about 3%....
