Financials

Yet another disappointing financial report. Revenue down, earnings down and share price way down this morning. They throw a dividend increase to reel in some suckers but I doubt there are a lot of suckers out there to support this company. I believe a management shake up is overdue.

And still need to get through another tough y/y comparable next quarter. The debt repayment and free cash flow is nice though. Just not gonna see any growth for awhile it seems.

Yeah, the outlook wasn't very encouraging. And they seem to be battling both the soft end market and their own operational problems. I'm a bit surprised the stock didn't drop more, although it's very cheap. GLTA, I'm moving on

To me the strategy seems off. Trying to get into packaging which is lower margin, but has more growth. I'd rather the company just start buying its stock into oblivion. The company could buy itself on two years of free cash flow and force the SP higher.

The writing was on the wall for at least a year that shipping and box demand was significantly declining.

While we would like to think that we can time cyclicals perfectly for 50+ years the reality is that nobody can. Of course they will be weak when the economy is weak but should recover nicely upon strengthening. The value here should surface with the better economy but enduring the weakness can be frustrating.

Daniel, it was not difficult to time this and recognize that the company was benefitting from the covid hangover. The return on equity that the company was enjoying was not a sustainable number.
