Results

James Howard-Tripp - 56% votes for Rory Riggs - 76% votes for Harry Glorikian - 70% votes for Garth MacRae - 70% votes for Whichever way IR spins this, 56% is a huge non-confidence statement. Consider, the slate of directors use thier combined votes to support each other, this mean a significant portion of the retail investors withheld supporting. Frankly, its a OMG moment and huge wake up call. Hope they wise up!

I don't see how you can come to that conclusion when only 20% of the shares were voted. 80% either didn't care or couldn't make up their mind. 20% is about 12.5m shares. A couple large shareholders could easily skew the out come of the voting results. If you look at the results from last year and compare what has changed and who came on board in that time period. regardless of the participation level, those who did vote, voted 44% to withheld. Meaning they didn't support Tripp. Using your 12.5 as a bases, that means 5.5m votes to abstain. Now assuming the insiders pooled thier votes which combined are alot (sorry don't have exact # handy) it is not unreasonable to assume Tripp did not receive very much support from outside the slate. I won't ...more

management share holdings were severely reduced by 8 with the RS. Check Sedi. The latest investors came onboard after the RS so hold many shares. Enough to skew the voting especially if it was concerted effort. I would guess this was a power play and has little to do retail investors. Most if not all of the 80% not voting would be retail investors. IMO Large investors especially unhappy ones would ...more

conserted efforts, protest voting, skewing the vote by large or small holders isn't unreasonable or unexpected following the less then stellar launch of Aristotle and the drop in sp. My view is, folks could have and will can get behind the merger but simply didn't appreciate the unexpected turn in direction and the way it was handled. Those moves (insert finger pointing here) lead to ...more

firstly, you can't vote Tripp out. He can only be hired/fired by the Board of Directors. Secondly, a sudden departure without a replacement strategy would shake confidence and crush the sp further. There needs to an effective transition and exit strategy that builds support in the market. No one benefits from a palace coup.

And yet it was a recent record for the amount of votes.

yes correct but that goes to show the actual majority will either forget, be indifferent or defer to others for the outcome. I would suspect they are retail holders. Large shareholders would be more likely want to make their vote count. IMO
