The initial public offering featured 75 million shares at $12. A year later the government sold its remaining 54 million shares at $15.

ONLY We ALBERTANS Were ALLOWED to BUY a QUOTA of THESE ORIGINAL Shares

With the TWO Share SPLITS Since 1990__Those $12 and $15 Shares HAVE a COST BASE
of  ONLY $3 and $3.75__Took a DECADE and Bit of DIVIDENDS to GET ALL OUR COST
BASE BACK 

Needless to Say__TELUS Has BEEN My TOP HOLDING__BOTH Current VALUE and DIVIDEND PayOut Each Year__and WILL BE Still in My Holdings UPON DEATH.

My average is so low I can't sell the capital gains taxs would kill me. I also will hold this stock for ever. The only other major company that I hold which has actually done better than Telus by a wide margin is Brookfield Asset Management. When I bought it was called EDPER(Edward and Peter Broffmam) and then became HEES international. Warren Buffet was right when he said when you buy a stock
