Bought in, assuming the bad news is all in.

Hoping to make $5/share here.  It's the first time I have ever owned a bank stock.

No Shirt, bad news for TD yes but we need to look to the general market as well. Trump's 25% tariff may be a bluff but even if reduced to 10% it is going to snuff a real estate Spring revival and halt the BoC from lowering rates beyond next week's move, possibly the last one for the next few meetings.

When I look at past 5% drops, TD seems to recover in a week or two.

And let's not forget there's a juicy dividend on the way. Ex-Dividend is January 10th for $1.05.
Comment by bartno12001 on Dec 07, 2024 9:01am
Nothing juicy about it. It's only 0.03 higher than what people have been getting last year and after ex dividend stock usually crashes more. Stock would open 1.02 lower and then people would sell more.  You want a bank whose stock actually holds after ex dividend and goes higher like ry, cibc, bmo etc.  Till June 2025 no reason to look at TD. Hopefully they can provide some update ...more

No need to listen to this guy.  He just bought a bank stock who's dividend isn't as juicy as this and share price dropped after earnings too! Besides, you already own lots of both. Toronto Dominion Bank boosted its holdings in BCE by 12.0% during the 2nd quarter. Toronto Dominion Bank now owns 8,450,810 shares of the utilities provider's stock valued at $273,553,000 after acquiring an additional 905,857 shares during the period. CIBC Asset Management Inc grew its holdings in shares of BCE by 23.8% in the second quarter. CIBC Asset ...more

Quin,, these numbers are at least 6 months old. BCE 2nd quarter ended June 30th.

Don't worry about RWT. It is slightly down but nice dividend . Next earnings will be better. I owned it my wife's SDRSP but believe or not I sold it and switched to Chorus aviation. As of now in that account having over 6000 sh up about 10% since  maybe more as I flipped that a few times. Have some more shares in the other account. They just announced sell of RAL. It will be ...more

Sold it without posting and bought something that's up.   Quelle surprise and how very like you! And how much is CHR paying you?  ;-)

Go to Chorus board. Just today they announced to pay down the debt. So hopefully they will announce dividend. If they pay out 2 cents stock may go to $ 4. Then I am out and buy more TD. I will rather collect dividends from TD instead  from some  unpredictable airline. Anyway that’s the plan. Besides I don't need more diversification already hold about 25 stocks.
Comment by Quintessential1 on Dec 09, 2024 10:10am
So they pay nothing.   Good to know.  ;-)
Comment by maplak on Dec 09, 2024 11:06am
LOL , l like dividends but not desperate. Besides from January I become eligible to collect pension from Chechia . Someone  over there has to pay for my beer. l
Comment by Quintessential1 on Dec 09, 2024 1:53pm
Probably about what it is worth...a beer.  ;-) Happy retirement and hydrating

td did announce no new guidance until H2 2025 , assumptiion: to give themselves the first half of the year to settle in under the scrutiny and the new ceo time to settle in.

Wasn't too long ago that BMO was in the toilet. Look at it now. Same can happen to TD.
