The Sinking ship and the the Greater Fool theory

greater fool theory  - a "lesser fool" will pay for an overpriced stock hoping to sell it to an even "greater fool". This works as long as there are new "greater fools" willing to pay a higher price" hoping to become the 'lesser fools'. Obviously lots of lesser and greater fools out re: this sinking ship. 

What's holding the stock price up? re: significnat and permanent drop in earnings, a lack of a plan for the future or the financial resources or wherewithall to do anything significant!  Who is paying these so called 'analysits'? They must be expecting a white knight to come to the rescue  (which is the only out)
