Repeated mistakes are not "mistakes"

For more than 10 years, with repeated mistakes after mistakes, let's call it a proper name. It's incompetence, ignorance, idiocy or stupidity.
While the science guys seemed to know what they were doing, Thera financial guy(s) and marketing guy(s) did not seem to know what they are doing. It's rebundantly clear that an offering would be a lot better in the US market than the Canadian market. It's is the financial guy's job to find that deal, since he got paid to do so. If he couldn't while others could, is he worthed his paycheck ?

Erickson's downfall was because of character and culture of management and the company. CEO"s decision to do it remotely was a symptom of that. Thera's horrible deal was a reflection of their character and culture. I'm sure they knew how this would go over with existing shareholders, but they didn't care.

You nailed it, juniper. These bad decisions are no mistakes. Theratechnologies management has been using its shareholders like toilet paper for decades. It seems some here don't mind to be placed in that position.

I have a Nokia story too. When I was at Templeton I visited with Nokia management in Finland. At the time they had transitioned from making tires to TV's. Seemed to me to be a strange corporate transition and I thought they had little chance of beating the Asian competition in TV's. I was probably there about a year before they got into cell phones, unfortunately. But I did end up buying ...more
