hyping TH

Finally TH being talked up by the company, I appreciate it. I don't see any false hope being given in that article. They are excited, finally.

To be fair, Paul has been hyping it in any presentation he has made with his significant use of many and somewhat varied superlatives. Unfortunately, the forum for this hyping is still not all that consequential for the stock. The reaction of the stock to the recommendation to buy the stock on Fox Business channel was much more impactful, if only for a short while. They need to have a very good ...more

Sentiments of the host will not pan out because they are based on ignorance. I don't know who gave him the idea of a cure for cancer, but it makes no sense. The host in the labs with Beliveau looked like a little boy in a candy store, very impressed by all the sophisticated instruments and with a well known scientist in Quebec that was very enthusiatic. I understand the enthusiasm of Beliveau, ...more

I learned that newscasts in Quebec are as unsophisticated as they are here in the US. You can't really expect Mssr. Zappo to know much of anything beyond what kind of hair gel holds up his coif. There are some serious-minded science newscasters around but I'm guessing he isn't one. My guess is this is the first "coup" the new Communications and PR person got them. It's ...more

Did TH announce they had filled Boucher's post? Or had you heard that somewhere else?
Comment by Wino115 on Nov 19, 2021 11:16am
I thought they had hired someone for PR before he had left, sort of took that away from him first. I could be wrong but there was a job rec out there for that and I thought someone said the position was hired.

I think this was the person you are referring to. Check out this job at Theratechnologies Inc.: Communications Manager https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2634295872

So it appears they are deep into the interview process but have not hired anyone yet - is that your understanding too (not taking anymore applications but the position is still open).
Comment by scarlet1967 on Nov 19, 2021 1:56pm
That job posting was removed while ago not sure when but quite while ago. I would think by now they had completed the interview process. Not all their employees are listed on LinkedIn last time I check I couldn't find anyone with that job title. If I remember correctly there is a lady in charge of communication and events maybe that's the new communication manager!

No false hope given by Levesque and Beliveau, but a huge false hope given by the host Pierre-Olivier Zappa. TH1902 will not be a cure for cancer. Maybe in the future, in favorable cases some patients will be cured, but that already exist. Also, maybe in the future TH19P01 with another cytotoxic agent, better than docetaxel could be more poweful, but we are far from that right now. Also, you cannot ...more

I don't speak French, so I can't understand what the host said but from your description, it certainly sounded way over the top. But TH tweeted it out. Do you think they should not have done so?
Comment by jfm1330 on Nov 19, 2021 11:35am
Here is the Google translate version of the article by TVA Nouvelles. What Beliveau and Levesque said is more nuanced than what the host said or what the title of the article is. Both never talked about a cure, but of a potential new weapon in the artillery. Soon a cure for Cancer? Every day, there are 158 cancer diagnoses in Quebec, and 65 people die from it. If it's the number one ...more

If this is about communication then it's no more helpful to repeatedly say this drug is NOT a cure for cancer as to say it is. I think most people already understand that cure in the context of cancer comes with a whole lot of small print. Seems to me you are interpreting cure to mean 100% cure, most people don't make that mistake.
Comment by juniper88 on Nov 19, 2021 11:32am
I agree, interpretation is important here. TH1902 won't cure all cancer, nothing will and JFM wrote that also.  Can it be a "cure" for some patients?  Maybe, we will have to wait and see.  You will never really know if you are cured until the day you die of something other than the cancer because the reality is it can always come back.  I have seen a documented ...more

Again, the best comparative for us with TH1902 or SORT1 platform as a whole is Lutathera. This is a real PDC that is effective at stopping disease progression and, in many cases, to yield tumor regression. Lutathera is also a cure for some neuroendocrine cancer patients since less than 1% of patients see complete response after many treatment cycles, but again, it is less than 1% of the cases ...more

I think one thing we keep forgetting too is that, for now, this is being tested as the "last chance" for treating these tumors. As such, the patients are in extended tumor conditions and all that entails around metastases and other complications. To expect "cure" at the 4th or 5th line would be pretty amazing if they get to that point. If effective, we can hope that there's ...more

That's where screening for sortilin expression will be critical. If I an a newly diagnosed patient and I have sortilin overexpression and the choice between being treated with docetaxel alone or TH1902, I will want TH1902 from the start. First I will have a better chance to knock out the cancer with higher concentration of the drugs in the cancer cell and longer treatment period, all that with ...more
