PUTTING $6000.00 worth of TH into a TFSA account is the worst ppossibe move anyone could make. .TFSA IS FOR +HIGRADE DIVIDEND STOCKS; IF TH GOES DOWN AND YOU SELL YOU LOSE THAT CONTRIBUTION ROOM FOR EVER.Stick to stocks that pay dividends for the last 5 years.Better yet buy ETF that mimic the S&P 500 ...

In Canada, what Muslix and others are talking about is a CELI in french; a certain amount each year that the federal juridiction let poeple invest TAX FREE........ So, here in Canada, for that portion, its VERY very interesting. FTV.

FYI : My strategy was the following.   I did transfer $6000 in TH value (around 1600 shares) from my investment account to my TFSA/CELI account, so I can start the year with a lost to apply against any profit I can easily make on any other stock in my portfolio without selling any TH at all. I am not saying that it's the think to do but just share idea with you.
