FEEDBACK from the company

I contacted the company yesterday and this is the response I got after a couple of hours:

Dear Mrs Echavarria,

1) Are there any corporate problems that investors should be aware of ?

-There have been no operational problems since the last release.

2) How about the 2 HRT rigs?

-Rig 115 in now in Manaus. Rig 116 is still being moved to Manaus. Both rigs are currently being marketed. There has been interest both inside Brazil and in other countries.

3) How about the utilization rate currently?

-We provide detailed utilization rates on a quarterly basis. We are cautious discussing utilization rates during a quarter as it can be misleading as to when rigs are going on and coming off contract as well as what type of rig makes up the utilization number as we have an extensive suite of equipment from smaller rigs up to larger 2000 hp rigs that command significantly varying rates. Details of utilization and associated revenues are provided with quarterly reports.

4) How about Trinidad's 2 rigs of Parex? Did you find new contracts?

-One of the rigs has been contracted in Brazil. This rig has cleared customs in Brazil and is being mobilized to location. The second rig is in Trinidad and is actively being marketed.

5) How about the 3 rigs whose refurbishment should be completed by Q4 2012 ?

-Refurbishments are to the point where we are now marketing these rigs. Refurbishments have been completed well in schedule.

6)Do you have any rigs working with hydraulic fracturing? Quebec banned fracking lately and it is the latest State that adds itself to this list.

-We currently don´t have any rigs working on horizontal wells in any of our jurisdictions. Hydraulic fracturing is more broadly used in the US and Canada but not where we have presence.

7)Do you present the company to the funds? Despite the amazing growth YOY, I think the company has very low awareness in the investment community.

-We continue to do quarterly calls, taking investment marketing trips and participating at symposiums and conferences. There´s an increasing number of analysts who are showing interest in the company. We are going to update the information on our webpage since we have more firms doing coverage on our company. There´s eight: Raymond James, Jennings Capital, Bank of Montreal, National Bank Financial, Stonecap Securities, Altacorp, Interbolsa from Colombia and Larrain Vial from Chile.

If there´s anything else you want to know don´t hesitate to contact me please.

Regards,

Sara Echavarría Vélez

There   is alot  of  excess capacity  in  the South  American  market.  Alot of idle rigs  or refurbished rigs being  "marketed".   Q2 was worse  than   Q1  sequentially  and  Brazil  is really  slowing down. The US  and   Canadian  markets   are finally& ...more

The concern I woud have with the recent info from IR is....out of 7 available rigs(that we know of), only one has found a home SO FAR. If they can find a home for these six soon and report this to the market, the share price will unbougtedly surge to 50 cents at least. With these 6 rigs not being utilized, there is a lot of EBITDA being left on the table.  Also, the company cannot afford to ...more

valueplaysonly, I see you prove your complete ignorance again and again. You need a heavy education about TID, put down the crack pipe, take off your glasses and quit drinking alcohol...where to start really? 1) Visit the website to see how NEW and MODERN TID fleet is. 2) The bank debt is $161M as of the latest Q2. The equity is as high as $360 M and grows every Q as the company is profitable ...more

Big  Deal  !!!!!    When was the last time you ever heard of  ANY COMPANY  drilling in Quebec  for oil and gas.  NADA.    Any regulation that forbids fracking  in a territory where  no market  exisits is a mute point!!!!!!   The Marcellus  shale  may extend into  Quebec    but  there ...more

I want to stress this strategic advantage of TID....Most folks have not fully realized it....Now after the ban from QUEBEC (Alberta and Saskatchewan tomorrow?), they will certainly appreciate it.... TID does not operate in USA or Canada whose States start banning hyd fracturing gradually. VERMONT in USA also banned hyd fracturing a couple of months ago ...more

vaueplays could I refer you to your own investment performance page in stockhouse to remind you that evidently you as well have not been very good at picking value plays. many of your stocks are down considerably.  You own TDG which itself has had problems with debt levels. TID has a fairly new rig fleet and south america may be slowing economically but from an oil and gas E&P perspective ...more

Vermont  buys excess  Quebec   hydroelectric for years.   These "bans"  are  a joke.  Maine  and  Vermont have tiny populations  tiny states  and has no need for  natural  gas drilling.   SK  wont ban  it because    SK  has the right metrics for NG  drilling  ...more

I   protect all my stocks with 5    % trailing stop  losses and most who know me  know im   mostly an  options trader  and covered call seller.     I told people when to buy  WFR, BAC   and  DRYS earlier in the year.  I also told people what  options I bought  and sold most for 2000  ...more

Very hard to believe you protect with 5% trailing stop losses as litterally evey stock you have owned would have triggered the sell based on just normal market volatility. Not sure what your motive is for your posts? Here is a link to a recent research note produced by Raymond James. It indicates that TID is in deep value range in the 20s and does not see its debt level as a show stopper. Also ...more

dbeaude,   I agree it has 6 rigs remaining idle currently (3  refurbished, 2 HRT, 1 Trinidad). Actually I also said the same thing in my post (3+2+1) but I made a mistake on the summary. However this is the latest response from Mrs Vanegas who confirms that the 3 refurbished rigs are currently being marketed and the refurbishment has already been completed.   So you ...more

You said I made two mistakes. Do you now agree you made the mistake on debt. One the rig count, you said I was wrong stating six idle rigs and now indicate your math was wrong. Now you say I should update my info on the status of the refurbished rigs. I stated in my post that my info was two weeks old and as of that date, the president informed me verbally that the as of that date the three ...more
