NP and new technology

I do believe that with the Florence project, Taseko could spin itself into an innovative leader in mining technology.  In situ for metals.  There are some papers out on the concept of fracking for metals.  The idea is that a solid ore body is fractured (hydro or some other means) and then insitu is used to recover the ore.  This would not have the same negative issues of fracking for natural gass which releases gasses into the water supply.

It would be interesting to see if Taseko could take their process that they are using for Florence and figure out how to use it for NP.  They would have to determine how to fracture the ore body.  It might be a slower process, but at least they could get access to the metal without creating an environmental issue.

Great post! Surely this is worth looking at for NP or any orebody. Does TKO have the means and foresight to lead the way on this?

There is a dif between fracturing mechanically to release hydro carbon fluid and gas from releasing copper and gold.  But not so far fetchted on the copper. Could be done I think. The gold coukd be leached afterward for sure. But environnentally??? nf

I could be wrong but I think gold is leached with cyanide. ..not whats used for copper.
