Other ideas?

Looking to broaden my metals holdings.  My problem is that a lot of the stocks you guys like are kinda hard to get into and out of in larger quantities.  The volume is just not there (NCU, etc)

Just wondering what other copper, silver, companies you recommend.  I will do my own research of course, but I fish for ideas everywhere.  I guess I don't mind a few lower companies.

Anyone know much about Copperbank?  Seems like the type of company Taseko buys from.
What about the bigger players in the industry?

As to large cap I own First Quantum It has been a steady performer - just had a correction. on the exploration side I own KDK. Will be not much news for a while but in my mind the best managed copper exploration investment. If you want a non copper play NorZinc (silver zinc) looks really interesting. solid management and board, permitting plus much of the infrastructure in place. Very undervalued ...more

Volume in NCU picked up a lot today. Many people are sitting on the sidelines and watching it seems to me. Might get a pull-back to .19 tomorrow after today's strong move up. Earnings mid next month sometime and a possble update on production ramp up that could come soon given the past intervals of disclosure. Cheers, N.

FYI: NCU still trading .195 but probably not for too much longer. N

JC, I rarely share others, as there was a while when TKO was the only safe bet in town. For decent volume, CMMC (copper mountain). on the gold side, still lots of upside in KL, their land packages are outstanding. The problem with ones to trade, for nice upside, is their volume is low that is why the price is low (amoung other things). TKO was lucky to trade 50k shares a day only a few ...more

Gold Era, NF has the crystal ball on that, read him, mine is just an opinion, which is often wrong... I just try to be right a bit more often than wrong.... Where does it go? Depends on a multitude of factors, market sentiment, management, but most critical is CU availability and price. Technical trading is always trumped by the swell of the sea, the tide, so you have little ripples on the ...more

Ah Kent.  You are an all in all out guy.  I am a half in half out.  I am certainly hoping q4 earnings are already baked in but you might be right about the market not being as bright as I hope.  Only thing to do is focus on the long view and take advantage of what the market gives me. The thing that keeps me from going in and about more often is the stinkin taxes.  It' ...more

I didnt used to be all in and all out, but I learn with time, not saying that is the right strategy, each one has to come up with what works for them in assessment and mitigation of risk. This is an excellent stock to day trade, and to hold for 10 years and not waste a moment of your life navel gazing the hourly swings... for me in the off season it is a nice game to play, and I enjoy watching the ...more

You day trade this stock?  Day trading has its issues for longs.  It adds liquidity which is good, but it also stops those nice runs.   Day trading into earnings is quite dangerous I would think.  Pull back today.  Kinda expected.  Needed to let some air out.  Might be market makers trading on early info.  After all, regs say the exchanges have to be ...more

I never day trade...  the odd time a week trade, maybe 10%, more like cycle trade, month to three months, TKO usually gets a bit more respect from me than that, but this year I have changed gear a bit, trying to learn how to sell...
