Not that we didn't know this already but read this and ask yourself if there is any scenario in which Taseko won't be eventually looked at as a takeover candidate.

Really comes down to the perception by potential acquirers of the upside potential, combined with the belief they can outperform current mgmt and realize greater profits.   TKO is relatively cheap.  Their mgmt appears to underperform.  Then it comes down to upside potential of their properties.

Lumpy, sometimes when someone looks to take over another company, it is not an issue of being able to outperform management, but purely a nuts and bolts game. What does the company have, what is the potential of the assets in the ground, and what will it cost to get those assets? That is it in a nutshell. With CU at $3, TKO was worth about 5B NPV. Market cap is ? It is simple math.  With ...more

TKO has Gib as its only producer....marginal at lower prices, and still struggling to put together even a couple good qtrs in a row. Flo is still permitting, and then to be built.....actual production is 2+ years away! Both of these are on the smaller size for a big copper producer. Yellowhead is probably 5 years ++ away from production....permitting/financing/construction. We've seen how ...more

First of all, you're sounding rather emotional. Everything okay at home? Second, Florence is likely less than 18 months from production, not 2+ years with all of those exclamation points next to them (emotional?). Third, regardless of your 5 with several pluses and more exclamation points (more emotional?), Yellowhead is a very promising project with great potential. As you may be aware mister ...more

I am not trashing the assets, but we need to stay in this time continuum. Seems like you are drinking the Koolade again re: timelines!!! If Flo is making sellable product in 18 months from now thats great, just not very realsitic seeing as we have at least several months until final permit. But I have been here a long time, and NOTHING happens quickly in permitting or developing a property. As ...more

I'm fairly certain Joe isn't drinking any Taseko Kool-Aid. If a major producer can swoop in and buy them on the cheap, why wouldn't they try? In the end, it's all about the price.

TKO has been cheap for a long time...anyone trying to buy?? Major producers have bigger fish to fry!!!

Maybe you shouldn't walk around with your panties in a bunch 24/7/365.

KW:  You missed my main point.  It starts with the upside potential (NPV, other potential pojects, etc).  If mgmt is doing a lousy job, the share price will underestimate (or not reflect) the upside potential.  A good mgmt team with a good asset will have a higher share price and require a higher premium (and all-in price) to acquire  it.  In that regards, if big CU ...more
