Riddle Me This Batman

Assuming $4 US copper as a baseline for the years 2022-2025, how can Taseko share price be anything under $5 US? $4.10 copper nets profit of $3 x 85M for an annual result of $255M US or just shy of $1 eps from Florence alone. Take away 25% for a JV partner and call it 75 cents per share. Gib gets us back to roughly $1 eps. Take away unexpected costs and corporate spending of 20 cents for 80 cents US eps in 2023. A mere 7x forward earnings gets share price to $5.60 US. Can Taseko management not attain those very attainable numbers? Maybe, but it would be hard, even with their track record.

Well Robin... The way the US is setting the stage for a full blown trade war and decoupling from China, there is probably a pretty strong case for MUCH lower copper prices!...can you say global economic recession.

You obviously missed the fact that Uncle Joe O'Biden is in the back pocket of the Chinese government. No trade war coming on that account. Besides, the supposition of the post was using a $4 baseline as stated.

You might have missed granpa Joes press conf on Friday...pretty much not able to even complete a lucid sentence, so I'm pretty sure he is not much of a force on US policy making! And the Alaska meetings were, well frosty at best. And, there are more than a few sanctions flying around....Quad, Five Eyes....not much cooperative engagement.

Sleepy Joe at one point referred to the South China Sea and the North China Sea....LOL

Obviously someone has got something off topic stuck in their head,,!!

And you might have missed the fact that the Chinese government has the O'Biden family by the proverbial short hairs due to their well documented payments to Hunter and "The Big Guy" (that being Uncle Joe, of course) in the tens of millions of dollars. When all is said and done, Joe is their man on the inside.

This is totally true.  Trump is gone, so is the threat of a trade war with China.  The US will just roll over and give them whatever they want.

"Assuming $4 US copper as a baseline? $4 US copper will become the new $2.50, Taseko won't be the only one operating at these lower grades, it's bound to become an industry norm unless they discover a whole lot of the higher grade copper which they haven't been doing. Grade declines and resource depletion will effect copper prices Australian-UK resources group BHP estimates ...more

Hey ES, your reply makes a strong case as to why Yellowhead is the next home run hitter on the Taseko team. Why not simply do a 30-50% JV with a major in regards to Yellowhead due to high Capex costs and get that project moving swiftly after Florence is one year into production? Add another quick $2 to share price with announced deal. All within 3 years (not completion of Yellowhead, just a signed ...more
