Tough News??

Don't know about all this "get out and run stuff"  We at Taseko have never done so well. Our plans are plain to see and those plans are that we need more copper, always need more copper. With Florence on the line Taseko doubles in size. With Gibraltar thru put enhanced by 40M TPD for around $50 M, that's basically another copper mine. What a deal

The Yellowhead doubles Taseko a second time. JDS Energy with Harmony plans coming on, like who saw that scenario happening. Was talking wth JDS bosses, they are Taseko Shareholders and describe Taseko as a " Fabulous mining company" A lot of us agree.

The next three weeks should be historic for Taseko, the UIC permit in hand, and Qtr 3 earnings posted, likely at a record EPS levels.

I'm not going anywhere else, going to stay put in front of the TKO fireplace, nice and warm.

Oh Boy

Good points miner. I especially like the 40 thousand tpd for 50 million bucks. Of course tko only gets 30 thousand of that. So it amounts to an extra million bucks a day. Scince moly credits come off c1, it would b almost 0 c1. It could bring overall c1 down to about a dollar. Imagine payback of capex about 30 days. So now a math exorcize or guess.  We trade at 2.40 instead of 2.50. I call ...more

Just an add on. The expansion really only costs about 37 million. Jv picks up the rest. nf

I hope you guys are as good at copper mining as you are at data mining.....although I don't necessary disagree

Agree with all of that but it's never the bus you see that runs you over. Taseko has a ticker symbol...in a crash all ticker symbols drop hard.  The global risks are not insignificant as to be ignored. If I was all loaded up on TGB I'd at least have an S&P put hedge on as insurance.

If we swing up a bit further to 2.5/3.1 USD/CAD (holding both, and I'm on overtime after the Evergrande news), I'll take some profits as a hedge, buying the dip on any crash.  If it crashes before that I'll just cut spending next year and buy more. With Florence very likely permitted soon this is about as safe as a stock gets with major growth potential. I'd love me some ...more

Is the 40m tpd upgrade an actual released number, or are you and NF, speculating?  I missed that bit of news if it is from the company.

40 thousand tpd has been mentioned several times jc. I believe it was mentioned on last q call. They need to drill the property to see what is there. They have a formula of so much reserve to justify expansion. nf

No mention of that number in the transcript of the CC.  I have spent about an hour going over every news announcement I can find, and nothing. Really trying to verify this.  I wouldn't ask if I had not been putting in the effort myself.  The only place I have seen that number is from posters on this board.

You will know soon jc. They will surely update on the plan on con call. It was 1rst talked about 5 years ago. nf

Fine, but if any one else wants to chime in with a link, I would appreciate it greatly.  Anything about the upgrades at Gib.  I remember something about xray tech on the shovels that would allow them to send avoid sending copperless shovelfulls to the plant, but that was more about plant efficiency rather than increased total tpd.  I want to be as optimistic as anyone else, but I ...more

Jc. It is no biggy. Spec at best. Miner and I are not lying. This is spec by the corp on whatever forum. 1rst, they need to drill to prov. resource. Second. They need to retool. Until they announce drilling, there is nothing. Miner and I are optomistic though. nf

Ok.  Not trying to accuse anyone of lying, just trying to distinguish between optimism and guidance. I do remember them talking about a drilling program. My assumption was that it would potentially extend LOM rather than increase production. We will see.

Well.  There goes copper again.  Up .06 before I go to bed tonight.  Worrying about macros is kinda futile.  All that matters with this company is production and the price of copper. Yes, it is true that the price of copper and macros are tied together,  it it is really hard to imagine any scenario where demand is going to drop more than temporarily.  And in the short ...more

Nothing wrong with that mindset but....If the Chinese housing sector collapses in a heap everything is going to go with it. It's the largest asset class on the planet.  Ramping oil and gas and electricity costs are going to take a toll as will the supply bottlenecks and the unfathomable global debt that's now getting repriced as inflation is out of control. The backdrop is ripe for a ...more

Fertilizer prices hit all time highs which will play into food prices and shortages...one more nail in the coffin of this giant ponzi scheme called a "market"

I'd say Taseko is on the cusp of becoming a fabulous mining company, which has historically lost money through a combination of bad luck and errors, and the recent spate of low grade and delays has made this such a cheap buy for us. :)
Comment by RobertC40 on Oct 10, 2021 1:41am
macro and micro, one does effect the other.....the China problem is real if they use half the copper mined, (they were selling their copper...a tea leaf?) can't ignore if you’re a copper miner even with very bright micro prospects....it might get hard from here, luckily we have some favrables, we might need  them all....we can hope to climb a wall of worry but we might have some strong ...more
