Taseko Mines Ltd > Is today the last day for appeals?

Is today the last day for appeals?

Is it 30 business or calendar days? Can an appeal be made tomorrow (Saturday) if it is day 30? Do we have to allow extra days for the EPA to inform Taseko of an appeal? I guess I should just be patient since we'll know by next Friday in any event.

Well pie. It seams like a few days will tell the story. I am not to hopeful that even full permit will do big in this environment. Apparently sky is falling. Permit will slow that up:)) nf

The 88 cent financing was under a different management. And, we have Renaissance Technologies as an institutional investor. Jim Simons is a world renowned mathematician that left academia and started a hedge fund at the age of 40. He went on to become the most successful hedge fund manager and one of the richest people in the world, as explained in the book: The Man Who Solved the Market: How Jim ...more

Well then, a pertinent question would be: what has Jim Simons via his hedge fund been doing as the stock price has slid since the announcement of the final permit approval? Have they been buying more shares? If not, why?

Market is acting like there is no appeal.  Be nice to see a pic of shovel breaking ground.  nf

Not sure.  3 cents seems to be the daily variation.  I would think the bump would be more if no appeal, but I get this stuff wrong all the time so don't mind me. Still kinda wonder of the ATM is happening.  Selling into the market would have to happen at 10% or less of daily volume.  I do believe they are allowed to privately place blocks at the daily market price, which ...more

Yo, JC, "without selling into the market to drive down the price"? What was the price day after final permit announcement compared to today? Down quite a bit, wouldn't you say? Still have no idea what they have or have not been doing but we'll all find out soon enough. The obvious goal is to have Florence 100% financed before breaking ground. That goal should be obtained. The ATM is $50 million.  It would take over a year to sell that into the market at today's prices, maybe closer to two years at 10% or less of daily volume.  So there would be more yet.

I don't think the ATM has been used. Yearrs ago when the company bought shares on the market it showed up publically the next day as insider trades, and selling shares into the market should show up the same way. As for the appeals period, I think it has lapsed without any appeals. I don't think the company has to announce unless there had been an appeal made. I'm trying to reach Brian ...more

Sounds about right. After this latest wave of selling shares, can't be too many speculative investors left at this point. Our little investors group appreciates their selling and departure as we continue to pick up shares on the cheap. While it's understandable to have legitimate concerns about the current balance sheet, final financing needs for Florence and upcoming restructuring of debt ...more

The Florence Permit will be in full effect on Nov. 1.  That is when the appeal period is over.  To this point, there is no indication an appeal has been filed.  That may be a bit of a catalyst.  Maybe.   Florence will get financed.  A permit is the golden ticket for miners. Right now unrest, wars, and China are a drag on the markets, as well as interest rates ...more
