Looks like they want to try and close all water access. Gold will fly if this unfolds???

Later, an Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander warned it would force the closure of waterways other than the Red Sea if "America and its allies continue committing crimes" in Gaza.

Brig Gen Mohammad Reza Naqdi said these could include the Mediterranean Sea and Strait of Gibraltar - but offered no details of how this would happen.

They effectively have closed everything.  Ships now have to go around Africa using 500,000 barels per day more in oil. Shipping costs are skyrocketing which will stoke inflation and cause delays.  So I doubt that it benefits gold as rising inflation will keep the almighty FED at "higher for longer"  If the US starts bombing someone or a US ship gets sunk then there will be ...more

That does make sense MH but people will lose faith in their currency and the only way to save or at least keep some value would be a run to gold. If I were living in any of these regions I would be buying gold with any dollars I have. Just a question, how do you get spell check to work on this site. My spell check works on the subject line but not on where I am typing right now? Thanks in advance ...more

No idea re: spellcheck.  I agree with you about loss of faith in government, fiat currency, institutions etc but the risk is that the casino they call a market hits the mother of all air pockets. There's plenty of reasons for it to happen. In that case everything with a ticker symbol including paper gold is going to get dumped.  In 2008 and 2020 gold and miners got monkey hammered ...more
