All asset classes including gold and gold stocks will be sold to cover margin calls and other market losses (my quote I posted many times). Remember gold pays no interest and holds no coupon. Basically dead investment when other interest bearing debt s are sucking money from your accounts, will need to be paid.
 
Gold may have it’s flavour of the day swings but without inflationary support it will be sideways at best for 2016. Summer oil will help a bit but many are going to hold preferred liquid cash.

Incase you didn't notice gold is most definetly in a steady uptrend and not going parabolic .... fyi inflation is not the only factor that moves gold , maybe take a look at the US dollar and you may then understand why gold is in an uptrend now. All the US dollar bulls must be soiling their pants today. Yes gold pays no interest but based on what a few central banks have done so
