Your RCF or Newmont - What's best for you going forward?

The way I read the press release is that RCF and Newmont pushed for the Strategic Review ("Alignment with our largest shareholders is a key consideration in the timing of this process").  My guess is that Terry M thought they could earn their way out of this pickle and lost that battle at the board level and then tossed in the towel, a second board member resigned as well.

So these two are driving the process. What do they want? What is a good deal from their persepctive?

The RCF investment wraps up in 2021 so they needs something to happen relatively fast.

I believe the major driver isn't operating capital as that should be generated in 1Q20 with the high-grade ore and record recovery rates. The problem is being a single asset play and TMAC is trading at major discount right now.

Does RCF or Newmont have other single assets in their portfolios and a merger is arranged.

Does Agnico Eagle do something? They seem to be the best operator in the north.

Are the shares with any dilutive discount already factored in? Is this the bottom?

Any ideas on how this will likely play out. Again, with the perspective being: what's best for RCF and Newmont?

if they get into debt problems... this is not the bottom. Nowhere near bottom. If they find a white knight... maybe $2 is the bottom.

Strategic review has been in the works for some time already, it's likely inked and will be released prior to Q2

If the deal is just waiting to be signed than perhaps all parties are just waiting to report achievement of 90% recovery to make the deal appear more palatable to the shareholders of the buying company. This also bodes well for shareholders of TMR and suggests a good buyout price. Unfortunately somebody much more knowledgeable and realistic than me likely has the inside scope and is dumping all ...more
